Dental Implants

Dental Implants are one type of restoration used to replace missing teeth. A dental implant is a titanium root replica that is surgically placed into the jaw bone. After a period of healing, the dental implant seamlessly integrates with the bone in your jaw. The dental implant replicates the shape and function of a natural tooth root. After the healing period, a dental crown is screwed into the top of the dental implant. The advantage of dental implants is that they do not need to utilize other teeth to replace the missing tooth (like a bridge does) and they most closely resemble the shape and function of a natural tooth.
